“With this sculpture I wanted to build a unique relationship between these large basalt stones formed and altered over millions of years. Situating them with a steel combination near enough to allow intimacy and a comfortable distance offering room for their own space…
Symbols and shapes appear in the process representing memories of past victories and tragedies.  Current shifts in human history seem a little too close (or just enough) for comfort; a Prince falls from grace, a Queen rises in formation and a race to lead a world power add weight to what is already my heaviest sculpture.  As well, this present community saturated by artists and creations accelerate my ideas.  My work and time spent at Franconia has been significantly impacting…”
