Relative proximity  steel and basalt

“With this I wanted to build a unique relationship between these large basalt stones… Situating them on a steel cantilever, near enough to allow intimacy and at a comfortable distance offering room for their own space…  Symbols and shapes appear in the process representing past victories and tragedies.  Current shifts in human history seem a little too close (or just enough) for comfort; a Prince falls from grace, a Queen rises in formation… adding weight to what is already a heavy sculpture…”
